- Reading food labels
- Counting carbohydrates
- Reducing portion size
- Healthy eating within your cultural and food preferences
- Exercise goals
Diabetes Dietitian Education
- Coach on diabetes self-management management goals
- Identify and manage your ratio of carbs to oral glucose medication or carbs to insulin
- Interpret your Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) or Insulin Pump Reports
What Should I Expect?
Our Diabetes Dietitian provides comprehensive nutrition sessions with detailed guidance to begin lifestyle changes immediately. These sessions are structured to account for food allergies/intolerances, individual food preferences, cultural preferences, level of physical activity, work-retirement-life balance to ensure sustainable results.
The length of a visit with this/our Diabetes Dietitian may vary. Initial visit will include a comprehensive nutrition session that provides detailed nutrition guides to ensure a sustainable lifestyle change. This Diabetes Dietitian will determine an appropriate follow-up schedule to monitor lifestyle changes, food log/diary, blood glucose log/diary, insulin to carb ratio, Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) logs, insulin pump reports, provide updated information on diabetes and nutrition, and/or address questions or concerns about nutrition and exercise in relation to blood glucose management.
