Our surgeons are board-certified in both General Surgery and Colorectal Surgery. In addition to colorectal diseases, we treat some general surgical diseases, particularly benign gallbladder disease, abdominal wall hernia, appendicitis, and bowel obstruction.
Benign gallbladder diseases include gallstones, cholecystitis, and biliary dyskinesia.
Abdominal wall hernias result when there is a weakness in the abdominal wall resulting in contents such as intestines or fat pushing through the weak spot. This can lead to pain, the presence of a bulge, and in some cases strangulation of the intestines.
Definitive treatment of these hernias requires surgery.
At Texas Colon and Pilonidal Clinic, the abdominal wall hernias we manage include:
- Groin hernias such as inguinal hernias
- Ventral / Incisional hernias
- Stoma (parastomal) hernias
